Best of the worst gas stations?
It's hard to believe that I have a 10 mile commute from McKinney to Plano (through Frisco and Allen), and don't pass any "good" gas stations. The only gas stations that are on my route are 7-11, RaceTrac, and QuickTrip, so I'm curious if any of you know which of these would be more likely to have good gas? Do they all buy generic gas from the cheapest vendor? I've been using QuickTrip for years, but I've noticed during my extensive datalogging this year that my AFRs do fluctuate between tanks, and sometimes there's a significant difference in AFR and power.
I doubt Quicktrip is bad, they are on the top tier gas list. Hell I use Costco gas in all my cars and I can't tell a difference at all. My S2000 drank all sorts of 93 octane gas for 140K miles with no issues.

sigh... why do we have this thread pop up so often... its really not that big of a deal - if you use inferior gas the knock sensor retards the timing and there should be no issue... this is not the 1970s where cars were not computer equipped and continued to run after shutting it off.

Think he is asking about power....not if it hurts the motor. If you get knock, then it will pull timing to save the motor and you will loose power.
I try to use only Shell or Chevron. But have used a few others when Im lazy and cant really tell to much. But I dont use Quicktrip or Racetrack either. Dont pass to many on my way to work

It isn't about feel at all. It's about data collection during product development. I've done thousands of miles of datalogs while developing an exhaust system, and there are clear signs that I occasionally get a different blend of gas that introduces data error.
which QT do you go to? Granted, I don't datalog, but I've had great luck w/ the 380 & 121 QTs in McKinney.
personally i use shell/chevron only, but i hear soooo many mixed reviews about QT....7-11 was terrible when i was only using 7-11 for a few months...it showed on my brand new plugs at the time
