Default This car isn't confortable...

super long road trip + bad back = ughhh.....!!!

I've realized this car isn't that comfortable, especially for the passenger. I found that out the hard way this weekend while driving to KC and back. It felt like this road trip would never end....next time i will make wiser road trip decisions...

and the hill country trip is coming up..ahhh!!!!

On a sidenote, i managed to get 32 mpg on the highway while going 90 mph!!! But i was drafting my friends mini-van...soo that doesn't count i guess.

Must be your back man. I drove mine from DFW tio Nesbit MS (81 miles less than you did to KC) and It was relatively painless.

Maybe try stopping more frequently. I drove from Dallas to AL (about 8-10 hours, IIRC) in one day, and didn't start getting uncomfortable until I was stuck in traffic near the end of the trip.
Overall, I'd say that the S2000 is quite a comfortable car, especially for the 'type' of car that it is (small, sporty roadster). Before adding the Teins, I'd much rather take the S2000 for a long trip than my Accord. The seats just seemed more supportive.

My AP2 is quite comfy on extended road trips.

I've done three 4000+ mile road trips and haven't had any issues. I agree, it just depends on whether your back likes the seats. I guess we're lucky.

I agree that the passenger side is not great for long hauls... as an owner you spend less time over there so you don't know. A couple of times I have let my son or brother drive on a road trip and after a few hours as a passenger it starts to hurt.

I have a bad back and neither seat gives me grief. As a matter of fact it seems to put things back in the right place if I was hurting when I got in.

The seats hurt my lower back after about an hour and a half. Sometimes after a long day at autocross I'd rather die than make the drive home from mineral wells. On the other hand the RX8 was absolutely comfortable all the way home from SA and to and back from houston.
