Default Congrats to Spawn!

Spawn was kicking ass and taking names at the BMW autocross this last weekend. He had FTD after his morning runs, but couldn't keep it. Our class (X) was at a disadvantage, since we were the 1st run group. The last group to run had the best (warmest) track temperatures, and least amount of track debris. Although he couldn't finish with FTD, he did finish 1st in X class (over 1 second faster than me). I'm not even sure if I got 2nd place...

I've got plenty of excuses for my loss, if anyone cares to hear them...

No. Thanks for sharing the info on Spawn, though.

Thanks gernby. If not for your tire problems I'm sure you would've kicked my butt pretty good (either that or you need to start smoking again!).

Whats the deal with the truckloads of people wanting rides with us?? I think the bimmer guys are paying people to try and weigh us down ...

I haven't figured out what I'm going to do about my tires. My fronts look like they still have 1/2 tread, and seem plenty sticky. The rears have some cord showing, and are rock hard. I don't want to get new rears until next season, so I may not even attend the next event. I have to replace my brake pads too. I guess my car was the one that Luis mentioned at the drivers meeting with insufficient brake pad thickness. The metal wear indicators have been squealing ever since my last run.

Although constant requests for ride-alongs can get old, it should be taken as a compliment. If you didn't look fast, they wouldn't ask.

Did you get all the vomit out of your carpet?

Wouldn't it suck if quiting smoking was the culprit for my loss. If it is, so be it. I'm enjoying NOT smoking more than autocrossing.

You are going to get a trophy this season from the BMW club, as long as you beat Marcus (White Prelude) at the next event.

Spawn, congrats on the win! Had I known yesterday, I would've congratulated you last night at Mick's place.

Gernby, have you managed to cord your Kumhos already? Sorry to hear that, and sorry to hear that you're thinking of skipping the next event, since I'll actually be able to make that one, and I was looking forward to running against you.

BTW, congrats on quitting smoking, and good luck to you!

I have corded the rears, but the fronts look like they have a long way to go. I got 5 events out of the rears, and I think I'm going to get another 4 out of the fronts. I expect to get more out of my next set, since my current driving style is much easier on them.

I've been without a smoke for just over 2 weeks, and I've been off of the patch for about 5 days.
