Default Diff Fluid Change

any one here planning on doing a diff fluid change any time soon?
i've haven't done one yet and was hoping to watch someone who has done it...

maybe we could get a bunch a guys/cars/girls together to do a few...

its as simple as unscrewing a bolt, draining, screwing back on a bolt, and pumping fluid in.

yeah i saw a couple of write ups...doesn't look hard at all...just an idea to meet other local S owners...

Yeah, I might do mine this weekend... you'll just need a 23mm box wrench... I'm not able to fit any of my 23mm sockets in there to get the fill bolt out.

And always, with this type of thing... make sure you take the FILL bolt out BEFORE you take the drain bolt out (can't stress this enough).

dave what's the logic behind taking out the fill bolt first?

Because you want to be sure you can get it off before you drain the fluid. You don't want to drain the fluid and then find out you can't re-fill it.

That, and also it lets the very viscous fluid get some air behind it to let it drain. Otherwise it will drain for about 3 days...

(The FSM also mentions this.)

Exactly... it seems like a simple thing to just take the fill bolt out... but it occasionally decides not to and then you're stuck. Just make it a habit for the diff AND the transmission.
