Default Ennis, this Friday

Anyone want to go to Ennis this Fri? A few of my friends are planning on being there including Gary with his supercharged miata (~200 rwhp), a WRX and a few stock miatas.

CMiS2K, Gary's Miata should be a challenge for you. You should come represent.

I may come out, I was suppose to go out of town, but I may not leave until Saturday morning.

Would I race on street or race tires for the drag strip? It would be interesting to see a supercharged Miata vs n/a S2000.

I have been wanting to trap the car before supercharger and before rear gears, this would give me an opportunity.

If i were you I'd save the race tires for the road courses. No one I know is gonna be on race tires including Gary. We're planning on meeting at Ennis at 8:30pm or so. Should be a lot of fun.

I don't know about the A032R's, but the Kumhos probably wouldn't make much of a difference at the drag strip. You would get a better launch, but the extra weight could negate the benefit of the launch.

.810 reaction time
2.103 60 foot
6.067 330 foot
9.282 1/8 th mile
76.47 miles per hour at the 1/8 th
12.004 1000 feet
14.388 1/4 mile
95.94 MPH

I ran 14.388 twice

the fastest MPH was at 97.02 but the eta was 14.611

I could NOT get traction off the line. Spawn I made 4 more passes after you left, I got the launch down and reaction time to .795, but still could NOT get traction. I spun the tires in first gear and hit the rev limiter. All the regular 1/4 drag racers said that the surface isn't the best to get traction on without slicks.

I would have to let off the gas and then back on to catch traction and then I would take off. Lots of time lost in first gear due to no freaking grip. I will go back, with race tires on next time. I know that better times could be achieved.
