camber doesnt wear your tires much, a combo of camber+ toe does

Im having an interesting rubbing problem, to start off with, (a new one is on the way) but the driver side wheel well lining got ripped off by a tire a few months ago, and consequently, thats the only side that i hear rubbing from, back is fine, passenger side sounds fine, just that one side, so im thinking it has something to do with that lining coming off for some reason.

Wheel specs are 18x8.5 +45 in front and 18x9.5 +50 in the rear
tire sizes are 225/40/18 up front and 255/35/18 in the back

The negative camber is an idea, just not a fan of wearing out tires, however i am running a few degrees of negative in the rear
If you are rubbing at all in front, I would not drive it till I get that fixed, rolling the fenders is not a big deal, a lot of people do it and you won't damage your fenders that way. 8.5 width with +45 offset and 225 tires would definately rub in the front if you are too low or too soft. Either raise the height or set it to hard so you don't rub for now and get that fixed asap. You can easily go -2 to -3 in the back and do like -1.5 to -2.0 in the front and you should be fine. Just don't get toe, toe is what kills the tires. A lot of camber is not good if you do a lot of straight highway driving, I would only get that much negative camber if my S was my fun/weekend car
Hope that helps.
