Default Front License Plate Ticket

Driving through Carrollton last week I was pulled over by a motorcycle cop. Reason? Driving without a front license plate.

Have any of you received a citation for no front plate? How many of you drive without a front plate?

Just curious. The ticket was $145.00.... ugh.

Haven'd had a front plate since '97 when I got my Integra. I've been pulled over a few times since then, never a mention of the front plate. <knock on wood>

I had one mention t when I owned my 93 Accord, and I had one mention it during my time with the S... No tickets, but i try to keep a really low profile in this car...

Not easy though...

I only have rear plates on both cars. I've never been pulled over for that reason, nor has it been mentioned while being given citations for other reasons

It's usually an add-on citation. Say after being pulled over for speeding, tack that on.

But they won't pull you over for being the sole reason. It's not a revenue generating citation...simply putting your front plate back on will get it dismissed.

^ Oh yea they'll pull you over for it, especially if you're younger... I keep my front one under the seat and act like I meant to put it on blah blah and show him I have it and they usually let me slide. They use it as a reason to check for anything else while you're pulled over.

But yea its one of those "dismissable for a $10 fee" things if you just put it back on.

I don't drive with one, never gotten a ticket for one.

Last time I was arrested they said they were going to give me a ticket for no front plate, but they never did.

In the words of Ice T..... F@#k the police!!! Some little truds will pull you over for anything (front plates, driving lights, etc), but if you act as if you actually respect them, they will usually let you go, taking only their sound advice. My dad was a cop, and he said "whenever you get pulled over, use a lot of sirs or ma'ams and you'll be okay" I've found it to be quite true. Once got caught going 75 in a residential area at like 2am, and gave him the utmost in respect, and he let me go, not even a warning.
