Please vote for your choice if you would like to have a Garage Day dedicated to learning how to do a valve adjustment. We will cover both the Honda method as well as "improvements" or alternatives to the method if you are interested in racing or a more precise adjustment. We will also cover the importance of the adjustment, and demonstrate how the valvetrain works on a partially dissasembled head.

The lesson/procedure will take approximately 2 hours from start to finish, time TBD. Unless someone else comes up with a better location, the location will be in Grapevine (between Dallas and Fort Worth) and we should be able to accomodate around 15 cars. Any more people and some of you will need to carpool!

If you have any other comments/questions, please post here.

This is a great idea. Let me know as soon as we have the date locked in and I'll notify the list... Thanks.

Thanks. I'd say let's give it another week and see who else votes. Right now, looks like the 26th, and I think we have more than enough people to do it.

Do you have the "special" wrench and feeler guages for the S2000? If not, I made a wrench for it, that is just the right length / angle, and some 90 degree feelers that I can bring.

I can't come before Halloween because I am running a spook house for the High School. If there is anyway to do it after I really want to be there!!

I have done it w/o the special tool, though I have had one made of my own design. I have a set of angled feelers as well. If anyone has the Honda tool and can bring it, it would be good to show... as well as your special "wrench," Greg.

David, it looks now like most people are shooting for the 26th... I'd like to accomodate you, but you might have to convince everyone else!

I am tentatively setting the Garage Day for the 26th. If you plan to attend, please send me an email so I can get a head count. The location will be in Grapevine, TX, until further notice.

Any preferred time? I prefer morning (around 9am) if everyone else is OK with that.

Should we plan on lunch afterwards?

Since we will probably have less than 10 people from the S2k club, I will open the invitation to the Prelude club for the few people that might be interested in seeing the process (almost identical).

I'm planning to attend. However, it seems like it might be better to do it a little later, unless Marcucci's car is going to be the donor car. Otherwise, the donor car will have to be there at around 6 AM. I really think it is going to take a pretty long time for the engine to cool down enough. The engine is supposed to be close to ambient.

I'm looking forward to this. It may also be good if someone could demonstrate a brake pad and fluid change...

Hmmm... probably not the same day, unless someone wants to explain to my wife why we will be busy all day.
