IMO, The best way to avoid getting hit in public parking lots is to park in the dead zone. (Where there is minimal traffic around your car and away from the ideal closest parking area.) But at the same time you don't want it to be hidden in the parking lot because it becomes a target for thieves.

[QUOTE=gernby,Mar 24 2010, 10:05 AM] The probability of accidents like this seems to be inversely related to the length of ownership and directly related to the car's condition.

I'm pretty much getting an security system for sure, probably next month or so. ( not just cause of this tho ) I stopped at car toys in mckinney today and the he recommand clifford and add "something" that will alarm will go off if anyone cut the soft top. Do you guys think that really works well? They quote me total price was around 450~500. lol i think i can get it done little cheaper some where else tho.

my buddy had a clifford installed in his prelude (blue01lude) and the brain of the system went out in it causing his car to not start at all. half his fuse box went out but no blown fuses...so we pulled the alarm and all its wires out and reconnected everything, now his guages dont work, windows wont roll down, sunroof wont open, clock doesnt work, defrost doesnt work, blinkers, or reverse lights...but i guess on the bright side...hes been stuck at 80,000k and something miles for the past 2 weeks....lol

im not sure id trust a clifford, ive heard a lot of good things about the system but not after what it did to his car.

You can't blame Clifford for that! That sounds like a bad install.
