Default Heel & Toe Question

I rev-match *all* the time. H2T everywhere I go. Coming to dead stops, coming around a corner. Everywhere...apply brakes, 5-4-3-2, apply gas.

Which means my throwout bearing gets hit twice as much compared to most other cars. Does anyone have imperical evidence that this will prematurely wear the throwout bearing, or will it be able to last until a clutch needs to be replaced.

Has anyone replaced a clutch/PP that looked good, but the throwout bearing failed?

Thanks.

I think if u heel toe all the time, it will cause premature wear and tear. When I come to a stop I usually put the car in neutral most of the time. But then there are times u wanna engine brake or just blast around the corners.

It probably isn't neccessary, but it's the way I learned how to drive. As such, it's as engraved into my head subconciously. Kind of like red = stop, green = go. It's just completley automatic.

So I'd love to hear someone that has a lot of experience on any car, with a history of heavy clutch use such as my car, to see if they've ever experienced a TO bearing failure without having a worn clutch/PP.

Maybe your throwout bearing might get increased wear but it's better than the teeth on the gears and synchros grinding to death.

I never got why people downshifted all the way down. I'll at most row thru the gears but if I know I'm going to stop I just pop it in N.

It's called engine braking, not really necessary but it can certainly help save some brakes and if you rev match it's no extra wear. I actually once read an article that it is also more fuel efficient somehow to downshift as you're slowing instead of using neutral and all brakes.

I would love the hear the logic on how hitting the throttle several times when slowing is more fuel efficient then using no throttle and just brakes.

Putting the car in Neutral while slowing makes you a menace on the road.

You have no control if a "situation" should arise.
