Jeesh guys ... pretty harsh. Just because his diction sucks doesn't mean he necessarily did anything wrong. I've had 2 hand guns taken by police temporarily, and neither were being carried. Both were in a home. It's a bitch to get them back.

When all else fails, there's Google.com.

First, the police will only release the gun to it's lawful owner with proof of ownership. Secondly, you do not need a CHL to possess a firearm in the state of Texas unless you are carrying it on your person, then a class and other regulations apply. Lastly, no state license is required to possess a rifle, shotgun or handgun.

BTW, isn't it illegal to buy a used hand gun without registering it again?
Nope not illegal to purchase unless you are selling to someone who cannot get a firearm legally....then you're screwed. The buyers name however is registered in the database with the serial number of the weapon so no need for paper work. The person you bought it from will have to pick it up most likely

That kinda sucks.... what if the weapon was used to kill somebody? Then the previous owner would be implicated. You'd think there would be a way for them to be sure that the registration got switched.

yes, it is a PITA to get it back, I think it'd be easier if there wasn't a registered owner

Any rifle, shotgun or pistol you buy from a dealer today is registered with the ATF.

You'll have to stick with used guns, Plaxico...
