Tomorrow im going to attempt to make them fit...saw a diy post on converting ap1-> ap2 tails and just do it backwards.

gonna put the ap1 gasket up to the bare metal (body) of my car then cut out the necessary places for the bulb fixtures to fit. then im going to tap into the connecting wires in the trunk (solder, heat shrink ect.) then run them to each bulb fixtures and solder to each prong inside....hopefully this will work.

lol wasnt sure what you meant by sarcastic...confused for a sec. but thats the only other thing i can think of to make it work...crazy how nobodys made a write up about ap2 to ap1

Im not trying to hate bc it is your car and do as you please, but going from AP2 to AP1 is a downgrade. I think there may be a write up or two but most ppl will prob be converting the other way around...You should take a look at Val (dfws2k) taillights they are modded ap1's that are animated , although a bit darker. If you are going to be cutting/fabricating/modding them this may be something you might be interested in. Just for the record, I converted my ap2 rear bumper to ap1 bc I like the look of gp sports rear valances made only for ap1, but switched back a week later bc 1 of the 2 pieces flew off on the highway!!

GOT EM IN!!!!!!

hardwired them all by soldering and heat shrinking and made some ghettofab custom brackets to put the studs through with the nut on the back...

needless to say they look great. (except the fact that walking out to my car with one of the tail lights in my hand, laptop in the other, then slipped on a patch of ice and put a 2 inch crack in the side of the tail light )

i would have made a diy...but its pretty self explanitory and i did the opposite of this:

Which tail light did u crack - drivers side or passenger?

 

drivers side...txchopper had already cracked the black plastic part inside the trunk area and then i cracked the outside lens when i hit the pavement this am.

why? got one for sale?
