What are the tabs/mounting plates on the outside ends of the harness bar for?
Almost definitely hardtop attach points...

My car already has the ragtop / assembly gutted out so I'm getting close to pulling the trigger on a proper roll bar...basically everything you see rear of the seats. Once I have a replacement DD, then I'll do the rest and go hardcore.

I plan to get my racing license sometime in the near future if all goes well. Doesn't seem like S2000s are very active in our area so it's hard to decide between SCCA and NASA. Need to do more research on this subject

yes those are hard top mounting points. yes i can put in a passenger seat. mine is mild steel. SCCA just added a mandatory 2nd door bar for the passenger side. Nasa will likely follow. My experience with both is scca is more difficult to deal with and nasa is more fun--more track time more races.

3 S2000's in H1 would be pretty cool. There are other H1 cars in the works so you all should have some playmates.

Yeah.... my budget is still looking pretty grim. I was looking up costs just to fulfill the safety and specification requirements (not even including upgrades to actually be competitive), and it was running in the neighborhood of 10K, just to get started.

Ouch. $$$.

Just curious - what's a typical H1 time at the full TWS clockwise course?

Don't think about the money...just spend it before you find something else to spend it on

the integra seller is asking 5.5k. thats a cheap race car and a great way to get stareted. I didnt see it --just his ad. yea i did some 1:59s clockwise at TWS. Not sure how that compares to CCW-i havent ever driven there CCW. But it was a blast to finally drive there. Marcus all you really need is a cage seat, harness, suit, helmet and maybe different shocks -springs. theres really no other mods to do--you already have the exhaust. 10k would be a pretty generous amount of $. Start today and start ripping out the insides--all of which you can resell. Your airbags are valuable, esp your steering wheel, your seats are worth at least $1000. I sold mine for $1500 and could have gotten more. If you ever decide to do it --call me. Gerry

I have raced against both of these cars for sale and they are good straight cars. The Civic was only a second or two off my times at Hallett and Mid-Ohio and finished 5th in H4 at the NASA Championships.

I don't think Marcus has a hardtop yet which would probably be the highest cost item. Even with buying a used hardtop I'm sure he could have a very safe car for less than $6k, even less if he sells the parts he takes off.
