The Initiative
I suppose I will take the initiative on this. I feel that a lot of you are right in saying that the events we have are dwindling. There really isn't a lot of interaction (that I've noticed) between members outside the boards anymore. As a result, I'm curious at what you guys want to do about it and your course of action to MAKE it a reality.
I am also curious if anyone is available and interested in having a meet in Lewisville this coming Friday. There is an Applebees off of Roundgrove that can host us. Let me know.

I think we should split it off in to 2 clubs. A FW one and Dallas one with organized interaction and common meeting points such as the autocrosses between the 2. The area is simply to big to logically think that people almost 100 miles away from each other can get together and mingle often.
The forum is of course a good meeting ground without and geographic boundaries.
I think this is a natural evolution of the car. Once it was fairly expensive and fairly exclusive meaning you hardly saw another S. Most of the members were more mature adults and there was a lot of fun exploring to be done. Most of the original group has moved on.
Now with the price you can buy used S you get a totally different crowd. The car is still just as nice, but not exclusive. There's little mystique and the new members have different interests than the original group.

It's not that bad - the meets are pretty good so far, IMO. It's just that the few people on here that are trying to start something that ruin the experience for the rest of us. In fact, evilmonkey's last meet was pretty successful IMO. The ones that are the loudest on the board are also the ones that never really attend meets either, from what I can tell...
I try to hit up everything I can - Saturday's are hard for me. I always go to Temming's Christmas party, and I try to make the S2k autocroess that are on Sunday. And I've attended tech days here and there. Usually, IMO when you put a face to a name, the crap that we usually have with each other, will go out the door.
It's good to see that there are a lot of us that are still willing to make the forum a good place. It's also good to see that NTS2k is going to adapt by making a thread just for off-topic subjects.
I think it's a very fair compromise...

I've been meaning to go out to Miles meet but ended up working instead. I've been preoccupied with both school and work lately so I haven't been able to make it out very often if at all. I'm just tired of all this complaining, if you feel the need to complain, I feel that you then must take appropriate actions to address the issue.

Gee. Thanks. lol. Like before, another restaurant (different place from last time) wants me to get something together so if you guys are all down I can plan a night for us to meet there - and check into discounts I guess
