John Eagle TWS Weekend
Who's planning on going to the John Eagle Weekend (18-19 May) at TWS? I think that would be a great excuse for a Friday afternoon convoy to College Station and evening social. It might keep some of us from getting speeding tickets near Byran (right Chris ?
).
For those unaware, John Eagle Honda of Houston sponsors a weekend at Texas World Speedway. It's a 2-day performance driving school with in-car instructors as required. Great fun. Call Lisa Rainoshek at 281-955-1770 for details and to sign up.
I also spoke with Lisa about John Eagle Honda - Dallas sponsoring an event at Texas Motorsports Ranch. While not in a decision making position, she was encouraging since JEH-D "wants to get into the performance line". She said that she would mention it to Mac DeLaup, President of JEH-Houston, who would pass the idea on to the president of JEH-Dallas. I recalled the S2000 focus day at TMR when we had 24 cars (S2000's) there. Good publicity for any Honda dealarship. I'm sure we could match or exceed that.
Regards,
Al

I have my name in the hat. Yes, I have had tickets on the way in Dallas, Mexia, Bremond, and Bryon.. lots more speed traps I have missed.
Rather than take a Friday off for a TWS trip I usually bail out of the office early and head down in the afternoon. Won't be able to make a caravan easily but am up for a group dinner.

I'm checking out the website for texasworldspeedway (http://texasworldspeedway.com/tracks.htm) , which track configuration is normally run at the drivers edge events there?
I'll have to make this one while my car is still running well. I should have my track wheels/tires by then. I'd like to caravan with a group if possible. If we get ten cars to attend we receive a discount, group garage and gathering at the hotel courtesy of Driver's Edge.

I am planning on going down for the weekend. I had registered for last years event and was unable to go because I had the flu. After three gas station pit stops between Arlington and ten miles south on I 45, I called it quits. I will need a helmet that meets the M95 spec.
