Some of you in the area may know Mina, and how awesome of a specimen of the female gender she is. I'll be asking her to marry me soon and have some awesome ideas. Looking for 1-2 videographers with some decent experience and video editing skills. Experience with cars is a plus.

The idea:

1. We drive both our cars to dinner and valet them in Downtown Dallas.
2. I take her for some sightseeing before dinner.
3. We walk to a park. As we're in the middle of the street, we stop and to see our cars flying around the corner, followed by a rental black charger with police strobes in the dash (sirens can be dubbed in). "Holy shit, someone's stealing our cars!"
4. They start to brake when they get closer to us, and start driving in a circle around us.
5. And of course that's when the magic happens.

I can't imagine this sequence will last more than 30 seconds. Although after the fact, I want to do some more footage to add before the finale.

Yikes, you'd let someone drive your and Mina's car Joey? Your brave...........Oh, and I like the idea.

 

A special girl deserves some special treatment. Plus our wedding theme involves our cars, so it's only appropriate.

Haha, well in this case, I'll make an exception and let someone drive it, because the end product will be awesome.

 

Just a suggestion, some of these local security companies have black and white cars. Maybe you could convince one of them to pose as the police car, it would look better.

 

Wow Joey is all I can say very good idea, And like Steve said there are a few company's or you can also ask off duty officer in the area. Some many either help you or have a buddy that can help you some of the bars in that area have off duty cops as the door guy so that maybe one way to get info, I haven't been to D&B for awhile now but if you go on a Friday night or Saturday night there a off duty detective named David ask him he is really cool and could possibility help you out. I can only stress this has to be in a controlled environment haha for 1 the cars cant risk damage 2 real cops stopping you guys haha. I really can't wait to see the end result of this set up.

Maybe if you posted a few pics of the cars and the girl, it would serve as inspiration to aspiring videographers!

 

There is a huge problem with going the legal route, and that's $$$. If it involves the city or cops, each will need to be mutually exclusive. The cop would have to be REALLY cool, as he could be held responsible if he oversaw something like this. Permits for filming aren't cheap, and neither are cops. I figure that since this whole thing will only last 30 seconds, that's less than a light cycle and shouldn't disturb traffic. Traffic on Sunday in downtown is pretty scarce.

Somehow I'd also doubt that a security company would be cheaper than $40/day for a full size rental that includes a Charger.

I also figure that I'd have a team of people helping out with walkie talkies, looking for cops, and explaining what we're doing to the 1 car that might be driving through. Luckily with one-way streets in downtown, I only have to worry about traffic from 2 sources. If one of those is a red light, then that's only 1 road that traffic could come from.

I sold my AP1 years ago. Picked up an NSX last year though.

 

One thought: you definitely do not want to get busted for impersonating a police officer.

 

That's why I was thinking only putting LED strobes in the dashboard, facing forward. No siren at all. That's also where the spotters up ahead / down the road would be helpful. The strobes would only be on for like 10 seconds from going around the corner, to driving to where we are. The 'cop car' will just drive past us, not circling.
