Default Lowering my car?

Hello guys,
as you all know this is my first actual car. I'm curious as to lowering the ride height of the car. I want to have like a 1" drop and I'm looking at the Tein S Tech springs. I want to know what else is needed to lower the car? And also installation ( I know John got hook ups for that -.~ ). Also some what do some of the terms mean. Like Shocks? not quite sure what that means. All I really know is rolling the fenders so I don't rub but what about everything else?

you really dont need to roll your fenders with oem wheels. im pretty low and dont have a problem. id suggest going coilovers since you can adjust them how ever you want. thats my opinion. good luck on your decision. post pics when youre done. hahah

Really? No rubbing? What about bump stops? But I think I'm gonna go with the S tech from Tein cause John has them mad hookups lol.

I don't think you'll rub even if you dump it like crazy with coilovers on stock wheels. Tein S tech's don't drop that much.
If you're just dropping for looks, you won't need to change your shocks until they blow out and your ride becomes rough.
for John

Well I'm am lowered on skunk springs and also have 9 inch wide wheels in the back with no rubbing but I do have rolled fenders. On stock wheels you don't need to do anything. But whatever you do be carefully with the bottom bolts I striped one of mine

Yeah, I just got the tien s-techs installed on my car (I probably need to talk to Jon about helping me install the rears ) and they don't drop very much. To be honest, it is pretty hard for me to tell much of a difference between stock ride height and my teins now. Maybe you can buy mine in a month or two and I'll get lower springs.

The shocks are the round tube that the springs are wrapped around on, like Joe said though, if you are just lowering for looks you wouldn't really need to change the shocks. All you would have to do is take apart the oem shock and spring combo and replace them with new ones. If I can talk Jon into it, maybe you can help us do my rears and we'll show you exactly what needs to be done. (Its a pain)

Just be sure to do your research before you pull the trigger, otherwise you may not be getting something you want.

I've go some springs on the way as well anybody know a good place to take it for an alignment after the install? I'm not sure I'd trust the local goodyear.

I heard Autoscope is very good at doing a sports alignment, but they are pretty pricey.

I'm running on Tein S tech/Koni yellows. They're perfect for me. Low enough but not slammed. Comfortable for daily driving. Stiffen them up for the twisties. I drive at least 60 miles a day.
