Default Mineral Wells Surface (New Map)

Ok, guys. After the last autocross I spent some time mapping out the surface at MW. It's not a perfect map but it's close enough to base a course off of.

Sorry I don't have a scanner. I'll try to get a less distorted version up soon.

What is the scale?

How wide is the back straight?

You can get the scale using the 1393' at the top of the map. That's the distance from edge to edge. It's really too distorted "as is" to get an accurate read.

The back straight is just wide enough to run a slalom and maybe a tight box. We'll being trying that again on May 10th.

BTW, what happened to you guys this past weekend? I know you son had a play and you didn't think you'd be able to make it, and then you could make it, and then you couldn't, and then I think you registered. Anyways, hope all is well...

Anyways, got to get to bed. Early rise for PCA autocross shool at MW.

We tried to make it but with the play and sickness we just couldn't get out there.

I REALLY WANTED TO TRY OUT MY NEW WHEELS AND TIRES!!!

So I am very disappointed we couldn't go. It was literally at bed time Friday we decided it wasn't going to work.

David b,

What wheels and tires did you get? Are you going to run R compounds now?

There is a BMW autocross next weekend at MW.

I got Prodrive rims and TA GForce KDs. 225/255

They are not R, but according to all mag testers they are the next best thing and now I don't have to worry about changine tires at the track.

Where do I pre-register or can I just do it at the door?

Anyone else going?

The BMW club doesn't have pre-registration. The BMW web site is here. Their events are about like ours, but with much higher speeds.

There are usually several S2000s out there. If TypeSH decides to come out with his Prelude, he will be the car to beat in X class. Otherwise, the only real competition for the S2000s will be Iain in his Miata.

Their site doesn't show a start time, or at least I couldn't find it under the Calendar.

What time should I be there? What does it cost so I bring enough $$$

I have to pick my son up at DFW. His flight comes in at 6:15. Will I be able to make it?
