There's two ways to do the convex mirrors, annd one is 3M tape, the other is removing the mirrors and boiling them to remove the OEM glass. One is easy the other is more involved. You pick.

Another way to remove the glass from the oem mirrors without removing the entire mirror:

Run the mirror all the way inward, then take a length of dental floss and run it behind the glass and with a sawing motion cut through the adhesive and remove the glass.

sounds like this would work.. but would the floss really hold up? this sounds like a much easier no mess job!

Dental floss is pretty tough, the trick is have about an eighteen inch length in order to hold onto while you are working it through the adhesive.

The same process works well for removing your side emblems which are held on with a tougher adhesive.

I put on convex mirrors this weekend and they are great. it was pretty simple. I just pulled them off and used a heat gun to get the glass off the plastic fame. Then i scraped off the white putty / glue and used 3m foam.

They were a little difficult to snap back onto the housing, but once I figured it out it was a breeze.

- note I did end up cracking one because it kept pushing it to try and line it up better - which I shouldt have bothered with since - a convex piece will not line up perfect in something that was desinged for a flat piece.

so if anyone needs a passenger side glass I will have an extra as these are not sold individually.

If you are close to downtown uptown I can help you out.
