You would think that someone could fix the damn car. The only thing that makes it exotic is the fact that there are only a few out there. Even parts for it could be ordered from benz or even fabricated if need be. Just an engine on a chasis on 4 wheels.
Seems a bit rediculous to me. If I have a high dollar sports car in my possesion, that was one of only a few in the world, and my intention was to just resell it, you bet your ass I would beat on it a little before I sold it off. take it to the track atleast.
Which comes to the next point, if I beat on the car while its in my possesion and "possibly"do something to void my warranty, it is my fault and I pay for the repairs, right? Not sue the car maker.
The article only states the sellers side of the story, I'd like to see what a Benz tech has to say about the condition of the car. I'm sure there is a hookup to read the ecu and see how the car has been driven. I even think some of the lotus's have this feature so the dealer can make sure YOU break it in with out pounding on it to keep their "warranty" costs low.
