Default MSR- FW #2

Do any of the MSR members have any new info on the track #2. The guys at dfw miata seem to be very pleased with the technical track

They are adding a second track. It will allow them to have Schools there plus have 2 tracks running at once. This will inconvenience the members less since they don't appreciate all us outsiders taking over &/or cluttering up their track so often.

Now here's the neat thing, there will be connecting roads that will allow the tracks to be combined into ONE BIG TRACK. The idea is to attract some big name races to MSR.

Adn then Jack has franchised the MSR concept and there are at least 2 others being built in Texas right now.

A few weeks ago you couldn't really tell much other than it will come down closer to the front gate than the old one.

The reason SCCA will not use the current track is that there is no wall seperating the two pairs of paralled straights. Personally I do not want walls built, and NASA does not care. The exodus from SCCA to NASA locally seems to be happening.

Anyway, does anyone know if the new section will be SCCA approved? It seems that Jack is able to book everything without them.

I was told they are extending the old track to make it a 3 mile track. This was the info I got from Rick at The Driver's Edge.

They will be able to connect the 2 tracks which will make a long track that they will use to attract higher profile races. ALMS has been mentioned

You can say that again. I don't think any amount of catering to things like "drifting" will be able to save them from their own bureaucracy.

NASA is way ahead of them in drifting

Not that I am a fan or anything.

ALMS would be way cool. Is Jack going to put up a couple more portable bleachers?
