North Texas S2k Test and Tune Weekend 4/16-17
North Texas S2k will be holding its 3rd “test and tune” event at Cam's Acres Race Site in Coalgate, OK. This event will be an excellent opportunity for S2000 owners who have never participated in an autocross or high performance driving event to improve driver skill, test the limits of your car in a safe environment, and most importantly to have fun! This event will also allow more experienced drivers a chance to hone in their skills with a much higher than normal amount of seat time than your typical autocross or HPDE. C.A.M.S. is a smaller multi configurable road course, and we will run a different configuration for each day. There will be no timing provided, but you are more than welcome to bring your own timing equipment. Spectators will be allowed on site and can do ride alongs, but will need to have read the rules, signed the wavier, and received a wristband.
NOVICE DRIVERS
Anyone that has not participated in an autocross, time trial, or HPDE will be considered a "novice" unless previously approved by an event organizer. Novice drivers will have an instructor in car, until they have been signed off to run solo. This is a measure we are taking to ensure the highest level of safety possible with this kind of event. With that being said, if you don't try to over drive your car or act like an idiot, you should have a great time learning how to properly drive your car quickly, while having a ton of fun in a safe environment.
NOVICE INSPECTION
All novice drivers will be required to have a pre track inspection completed prior to the day of the event. I will contact novice drivers with details regarding inspection. Good tires and fresh fluids are a must for any event like this, and high temperature brake fluid is highly encouraged. With that being said, your car does not need extensive modifications to safely participate in this event. A stock S2000 provides an excellent learning curve for improving your driver skill. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE TO COMPLETE YOUR INSPECTION!
DAY OF THE EVENT
It is highly recommended that you get plenty of sleep and give yourself enough time to get to the event site. Eat breakfast and hydrate. Arrive by 8:00AM to complete your on site tech inspection before the MANDATORY drivers meeting at 8:30AM.
ALL DRVIERS AND SPECTATORS ON SITE MUST READ THE RULES PAGE AND SIGN THE LIABILITY WAIVERS. The organizer will take your signed waiver in exchange for your wristband. No one will be allowed to leave the paddock without a wristband. After the driver's meeting, we will complete a parade lap to acclimate everyone to the course. Course goes hot at 9:00AM and we will pause for a one hour lunch break. Course will go hot again after lunch until we tear down around 5-6PM.
LODGING
Your weekend registration will include free camping with porta-pottys on site. There are stocked ponds for anyone wishing to do some fishing before or after the track goes hot. We will also be able to have a campfire near the paddock/camping area. There are also hotels nearby for those who do not wish to camp.
SIGN UP AND PAYMENT
Anyone that would like to participate should create a post in the comment section of this page with the words "SIGN ME UP." I will begin a waiting list when all 25 spots are filled. 5 spots will be reserved for instructors. Payment will be completed through PayPal to secure your spot. There will be no refunds if you have to forfeit your spot on the list, but anyone on the wait list can buy you out of your spot. Please communicate with the organizer if someone on the waiting list is buying you out of your spot and you cannot attend.
EVENT COST
$150 Includes the full weekend of test and tune, instruction if needed, and on site camping.
I will open single day registration on Wednesday March 16th at 7PM. Single day sign up will be $100.
Payment to be sent through PayPal as a "gift" to avoid any fees to NTXS2KI@Gmail.com
