I'm wanting to look in the DFW area for a s2k gauge cluster with the harness plugs in the back. I'm askin nts2ko to please keep an eye out for a wrecked s2k that I could get the gauge cluster from.

thanks for looking. i want to find one in a junk yard so i can pull it out and save more money tho. if you come across a local dfw junk yard then let me know as well. im going to start looking at some in waxahachie.

 

I would think they would be hard to find.. not too many yards let you pull your own anymore...

And local? Kennedale is just south of IH20 at the east side of 820... it is local....

I'd keep an eye on car-part.com (nationally) as most will ship. The R&R is so simple on it, too, that they likely won't charge much less if you pull it yourself.

I've found that a lot of the AL, GA, NC, and SC yards tend to not know how expensive parts are new and they sell import parts dirt cheap. Maybe they just aren't in demand there. For instance, I can pick up a MAF for my truck (Isuzu) any day of the week for <$100 at a NC yard, but the places in TX and CA want $200+.

 

Are you planning on trying to put this in your Prelude? I don't know if it's possible, but that would be interesting.

 

todd said it can be done. he said as long as i get the harnesses that go into the back of the gauges then he can do the wire up. he said the lude and s2k are very close. and he has the wiring format for both.

i figured since this will be the first project car then i might as well do as much custom work i can. so i would love to get this done. and have a template made to take up the empty space since the s2k gauge is smaller than the preludes. im almost tempted to do the acura tl headlight conversion but it has already been done so i think i will leave that alone. im still calling on a few sponsors to see if they could help out in any way also. if anyone has any fresh ideas please let me know. i could use some new ones.
