Default New Guy...

Hey all, just a quick intro for myself in case you missed my self intro on the main S2ki introduction page.

I've been looking for a decent AP2 with a hard top for a couple months and finally found one on CL just a couple weeks back. I went and picked the car up last Friday night in the rain and promptly left town the next AM for a week long Christmas trip in my wife's Prius. I finally got to actually drive it to work this AM after it sat in my garage all week!

I'm in Carrollton pretty darn close to the BMW dealership so maybe I'll try to drag my sorry behind outta bed on Saturday to check out some other people's cars.

I'm decently handy with a wrench, and so far my plans for the car are to work to make it a better DD (Dynamatte for starters).

Welcome! Steven (username: Vanishing Point) usually welcomes all the new people and sets up the meets but now that he bought an NSX I don't know if he still checks this site Just kidding Steve!

As far as meets, the first Saturday of every month is Cars and Coffee. We also try and do a lunch meet on the 3rd Saturday of every month.
,We also have a Facebook group if you are active on there. https://www.facebook.com/groups/215894868534689/

Hope to see you at C&C!

Welcome! Awesome choice in color, and luckily able to snag one up during this time of the year that you wanted.

You'll realize pretty quickly these cars are actually very easy to work on, and I hope you enjoy it as much as we all do!

You should definitely go to Cars & Coffee if possible, my first time going in November had a huge turn out for the S2000's and NSX's, and everyone there were extremely cool and nice.

Welcome! Beware of the mod disease going around, once you begin you will ultimately succumb to it and spend all excess money on it!

On a more serious note, as this is a DD I'm actually more interested in some dynamat and possibly a slightly softer rear suspension. I know that it's almost sacrilege to do such a thing to a high performance car, but keeping the wife happy, as well as my backside and ears is the direction I'm thinking.

I'm guessing that it might be a car that someone here has seen before as the guy I bought it from has been on the forum here before. It's got a I/H/E for what it's worth (I hear 5-7 Hp total for all 3) and the factory front lip and strakes which help set it out a little bit from the crowd maybe? The hard top (even tho it's non factory) is really what got me to bite on this one.

I had been slightly concerned with the lack of torque, but coming from a 99 EX civic it's got me smiling pretty well. As for Color, I'd actually have preferred white, as I think it's more practical, especially for our Texas heat, but red Hondas seem to be all I can ever find that meet the spec that I want in a car (or bike). I've owned and driven into the ground 2 red civics and a red VFR. Planning to do the same with this car.

For work that the car needs, I think that the starter may go sooner than later as it makes a bit of a squeal after starting, but looking at the top bolt location from one of the how-tos on the site here, it doesn't look like a ton-o-fun.

Congrats on the new baby.
Steven is the Cars and Coffee guru and I am the track advocate.
My S2000 is becoming more a track toy as time goes on and I would recommend you jump into a DE with Apex at motorsport ranch. You will gain a new perspective on the car an also increase the likelihood it stays in one piece by improving driver skill.

Look forward to seeing you on track.

You'll realize pretty quickly these cars are actually very easy to work on (except solo installing supercharger), and I hope you enjoy it as much as we all do!

Fixed Statement above

Soon to be boosted NFR. Low boost however being NFR it naturally adds another 15 psi of boost without the need of EMS!

Got any pics of the car?
