Just wanted to say hi as a new member. I have enjoyed reading some of the discussions in the forum. I have already gained valuable knowledge on your discussions.

I am the proud owner of a 2005 Silverstone Black S2000. I live in a rural area (Haskell) about 60 miles north of Abilene, TX. It is amazing the stares I receive with this car. I know of know one in a 60 mile radius from here with a S2000.

I have added OEM rear trunk spoiler, OEM front lip spoiler, and OEM Side Strakes. STAR HONDA of Abilene did the work for me. Did a great job except for the side strakes. The OEM adhesive tape does not work well. Does anyone have any ideas of have to keep the Side Strakes on permanently without using adhesive tape.

Look forward to future discussions.

Congrats!

Hmm, I thought the strake installation method involved drilling into the body of the car and attaching them with bolts?

Here's a link to the installation instructions:

My advice is to just not use the strakes - even with the drilling and bolting, they still tend to fall off.

You are right, there is drilling into the body but the front part of the strake is held on by a grommett and adhesive tape. Even though I think they look good on the car I wish I wouldn't had them installed. If I have them taken off I will have four exposed holes in the body of my car. Star Honda shop guy told me that he did some checking up on it and was told that a liquid adhesive could be added that would hold it. Not sure I want liquid adhesive put on my brand new car.

Thanks for the installation link.

since allstate brought it up - hi allstate. hi everybody.

i'm the proud and paranoid (damn public parking spaces to hell!) new owner of an 05 black/black.

all stock except for the stereo system (in progress).

thanks and no thanks to my discovery of s2ki.com, i obsessively and compulsively want to get things and do things to my car.

can't wait until my day off monday to do yet another thing to my car (finish stereo system).

allstate: any future mods in the planning?

any DIYers in the house?

my daily mantra: today, i willl get nothing and do nothing to my car.

puffycloud,

Where do you reside? Your avitar has a place for this and it gives us something to do when we're driving. Oh...that may be puffy cloud..do you think?
