If you guys like the Falkens you should check out the Bridgestone RE-01R, another step up.
Yeah, in terms of cost as well. For street tires that'll wear out faster than most other tires out there, it's not worth it to me. The Falkens probably give 95% of the performance at 60% of the cost. Seeing as how I'm on my third set of tires in 12K miles, it adds up if I'm paying $200+ a tire (plus installation).

Haha I'm on some Sumitomo HTR-Zs that TireRack had on clearance for $60 a tire.

Hold traction pretty good, good in rain, have a 160 treadwear rating... feel isn't as sharp as the Azenis or RE-01's or anything. But I'm not gonna argue for under $250 for a full set of tires.

Kumho MX's... great tire and they've held up nicely for daily driving.

I'm on my 2nd set of Kuhmo ASX's on the rear, fronts have 13k and plenty left.

That's not true, 95% is a bit high I'd say. The Falkens are not a bad tire by any means (except maybe in the rain). If you're just driving on the street you could probably get away with any crappy all season but on an autocross course when it matters the RE-01R is quite a bit faster than the Falken. Nobody uses the RT615's anymore for street touring classes at a competitive level. Just depends on your needs. I daily drive RT615's on the Miata and occasionally autocross and I like them for the price.

How are you burning through a set of tires in 4,000 miles on the street? We got almost 4,000 street miles out of a pair of rear RE-01R's with about 120 hard autocross runs on them. The fronts will last easily 8-10K miles. That's all on a very aggressive autocross alignment. I'd get your toe and camber checked out.
I like to slide the tail a lot. I get slightly less life out of the passenger side rear but talking to a few other guys, they get the same thing.

Very little camber wear on the tires. They generaly wear evenly across the tread, just quickly. The car tracks perfectly straight as well. I do plan on getting an alignment done next time I'm in Houston with the S2000, though.

One thing I've found with the all-season tires is that the sidewalls are as stiff and so the car isn't as responsive. I drove a car with Fuzion ZRi tires on it and it moved around way too much for my taste. It was on the AP1 wheels, though, so the sidewalls were taller than on my AP2. Anyone else noticed this?

Another guy locally has Sumitomo HTR-Zs on his and he says they're fantastic for the price. I may try them next time, just for kicks, since they're half the price of other tires...
