I was not looking for a lecture, discussion or to be told what I should and should not want to purchase.

I was hoping someone on the site could sell me what I WANTED and make a dollars on a commission.

Comp USA and some unknown saleman just got my business.

Have a read on a site like this and you will see why HTIB has been ruled out.

It's like putting a set of $100 tires on a Ferrari.

For $1000, you're not going to get a "Ferrari-worthy" system. And I'm not sure why you're saying that you're ruling out a HTIB when you said you're considering the Samsung HT-C6730W. That is a HTIB.

Some of them do. If they're just looking for 1 speaker.

I agree with tomauto, Onkyo is very good for a regular user. I bought a 'refurb' from them directly and honestly everything seemed the same as a brand new one. This one looks good for the price:

Please don't cry.
Welcome to a forum, you ask here when you have questions. People recommend stuff.
There really aren't many people who sell/install audio on this forum so you aren't going to hurt our feelings when you say, "Comp USA and some unknown saleman just got my business."
However, we will probably giggle a bit at that comment.

fyi: s2ki is not a business so don't go around pouting that we couldn't sell you what you wanted. This is a community not a business.
