Default Removing softtop assembly

anyone know where a good diy thread is on removing the whole soft top/frame/motor...everything...gutted out...

been looking a while and most have pics with missing links so they dont show at all...

Just did it tonight!! What a PITA. The service manual has a good step by step. Definitely need 2 people.

dang man. think you could make a quick write up lol. you had to move the whole console and seats and all..right..

yeah its pretty simple just remember where all the bolts go and theres some hidden screws behind the secret compartment. OH and the most important thing DO NOT try to pull the roll hoop covers apart. They are one piece!

Yes. Seats. Console. Roll bars. Back plastic. Side plastic pieces. Top motors. Aughh. My dad and I did it. Took about 4 hrs. And I already had seats out.

If u need a service manual, I have the 2000-2003 one on PDF and can email it to u. Drop me ur email.

Finished removing the soft top and its motors about an hour ago...started the clock at 11:45 and finished in 2 hours

looks clean without it back there...and that thing weighs like 50 lbs

lol i honestly never take my hardtop off...and if i do...its just for a cruise around town. i got a good offer on it and thats the only reason im selling it. if he were to offer me even $500 i wouldnt have sold it. you'll prob see me looking for another one next summer

wow, 500? I sold mine for like 200... lucky you!

I miss my soft top though, a little. I keep hitting my head on top whenever I'm trying to look at the curb when back parking.
