Default Replaced Rear Axles

I had replaced the right rear wheel bearing while I was recently out of town in Alabama because of the grinding metal sound and that fixed the issue for a little bit. Shortly after getting back home, I began to develop a clicking/clunking in the rear end that was annoying as all get out. It progressively got louder, more annoying, and embarassing. After doing some research, it sounded as if the inner CV boot/s were shot. I ordered a pair of axles from Raxles (would highly recommend these guys) that arrived yesterday evening. After installing them today, all the annoyance from the rear is gone and it seems to even drive better (unless that is my imagination). Anyhow, if anyone needs some pointers/help with changing rear axles I could offer some advice/help.

Its a common AP1 issue, the cv buckets develop grooves in them, just take them off and flip them and re-install them. Easy

Yeah, I saw that it was common on the AP1s...but mine is an AP2. I am sure that having the car lowered contributed to the problem.

Hm I only had to replace one when I popped it during an attempted burn out.

No problems otherwise.

Yup a very common issue among S'. I had the same problem about a year ago. Its easier and free if you just swap the CV buckets

what kind of noise was it? Mine have started makng a clicking noise. It's a pop or click noise only when I initially creep or let the clutch out in gear. It's most noticable when I initially reverse.

Yep, Rio...that is how it starts. Only a matter of time before the sounds get worse and you will either be flipping your CV boots or replacing them.
