Default A Request for NTS2K Owners

Hey North Texas S2000 Owners group! I have a pretty simple request to ask...but first i'll introduce my dilemma.

My name is Nick and I've been throwing around the idea of getting back into an S2000 (Had one 7 years ago). I'm sure some of you guys have seen either me/my car around the metroplex and meets. I currently drive a 2011 Roush Sport Mustang GT with a few modifications. I've been bouncing around the idea of parting/selling my car for a while and getting into an '04-'05 MY AP2. I love most aspects of the Mustang actually, but what worries me is the reliability of the motor and trans (warranty almost up) as they have some pretty common MAJOR issues. This car has me so paranoid and I desperately want to get back into racing.

Now my request...Upon buying an AP2, I'll be buying a supercharger setup immediately following so the straight line acceleration shock of going from a 400+ WHP car to an S2000 wont be so bad. I know the handling of the S2000 will be light years ahead of the Mustang as I used to race my AP1 almost every weekend, but I want to at least be able to keep up with my on ramp sprints. Videos and threads on s2ki can only do so much. I want to meet and go for a ride along with a low boost supercharged S2000 so I can have some real world info to make this decision a little easier. Not looking for anything crazy, just a daily driver on maybe 6-11psi to get a good feel for what I can expect. I appreciate the help and hope to see you guys around.

Here are some pictures of my current ride, as well as some of my old S2000.

And my old S2000

Pm S2k manic (Matt), he's on his second supercharged S2000 and can probably help you out. Here's an entire thread on his current ride. Good luck and welcome.

320-340 wheel is what I'd be looking to put down so that sounds good.

Just curious, but why not get 06+ where you can use flash pro instead?

^ Yup!

When I bought my S in 08 I was dead set on an 04-05 model. I ended up with a 2005 because I read everyone talking about having issues with the cel and drive by wire if any mods were made. I intended to mod so I went with the last year made without drive by wire. Fast forward to now and we Flashpro! There was no mention of flashpro then but if I knew better I would have gone with 06+! I still love my car and can eventually get a K-pro but it will cost about double!

I run the aem v1 I change two wires throw the stock ecu in drive 20 miles get inspection and back to aem and I have to say the emanage works really good for a supercharger setup and I don't like drive by wire myself or over intrusive vsa have a buddy with a v8 Hyundai genesis and that car felt so disconnected even pulling the vsa fuses it still found a way to dumb down the car now I know the s is light years better than a Hunyadi I just like the raw feel of the ap1 something about a car that wants to kill you like owning a tiger
