Sebring front bumper?
mental lapse last night taking the denton tap exit off 121 S sweeper. AP2 on AP1 rims-snapped weirdly on me-didn't catch it right, front left hit the inside wall, spun out to the right (thank God), hopped a curb, flew through the grass, off the other curb, 1 more half spin. Now I'm trying to get cheap parts to minimize the out-of pocket (did a 1,000 deductible when I shouldn't have).
Dont't drive an AP2 on AP1 rims and mid-performance, mismatched tires the same way you drive an AP2 on AP2 rims with kuhmo mx's.
Need a front bumper for sure, possibly front left quarter panel, maybe passenger side rocker panel. Both left tires are flat. May need new hood, at least reset, etc.
Let me know if anyone has any sebring stuff.
Thanks,
Tom

The apparently ultra-rich (as in he gives loans to Bill Gates) guy "medicalstudent" in Houston is selling some body panels from his second S2000, an NFR. I think you're going to have a hard time finding used panels if you're initially picky on color.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune...other members have experienced similar *lessons* pushing their cars on the streets so you're not alone. Too many variables on the street and too many things to hit including other cars / people. You're lucky no one else was affected.
There is no issue using AP1 rims/tires on the AP2 if you get the stagger right. In fact, most people consider the AP2 suspension far more compliant from a *streetability* perspective.
Your oversteer issue was probably related to incorrectly staggered tire sizes. This is a far more widespread problem with AP1 replacement tires than people realize. I'm guessing the tires on your AP1 rims are 205/55/16 front and 225/50/16 rear sizing but NOT the OEM Bridgestone S-02s. If I'm right, then that's your problem. Replacement tires need to use 245/45/16 rear sizing...this issue is well documented in the wheel & tire forum so I'm not going there.
Good luck with your restoration project.

front tires were shorter (205/50 instead of 205/55) increasing rake a bit, but the rears were 245/45. michelins on front, dunlops on rear
I was obviously going faster than I should have been. I keep replaying everything in my mind, but can't figure out what went wrong. Maybe I knew I was going in too hot and tapped the brakes-shifting the weight-i have no clue. I just know the tail started to go, I did the normal slight countersteer- everything went super wobbly, then smash, smash, smash. I felt like I went the distance of a football field, but I only ended up 75 ft away from the wall impact.
Probably a combination of driver error, narrower contact patches all around, less grippy tires, increased rake, and rear shocks that have got be worn out after 45,000 miles hard driving
Funny how I've pushed the car much, much more on the auto-x course (albeit with a different set-up (less treadwidth stagger), and never spun out. Then this at a time when I really can't handle it financially.
I hope not, but this car might be for sale soon. Depends on amount owed versus what I can get, and insurance changes after this.
Veits2k, let me know what he'll sell that bumper for. I'll compare to the one my bodyshop found and see which is better deal. I might also be interested in your stock cat (if you'll let it go very cheaply). I'm sort of in a "stock" mood now.
Although I'm sure it won't last.

I hear all this talk about it being a "requirement" that if your tires are anything other than the S02s, you must have 225s in front and 245s in the rear. Due to my budget, I am on Kuhho ASXs and running 205/225s and I have been perfectly content.

I hate to say this, but I think it was 99.9% driver error. Divide the other .1% among the other factors.
Let me help you out -100% driver error - if you are talking about wrecking or not. I'm not blaming the setup for my wreck. It's a 30 mph exit and I took it in 5th gear at about 5k rpms. I was being REALLY stupid. The point is, I've been REALLY stupid about 300 times before on that same corner, though, on the other set-up. So... I just didn't adjust for the lesser limits of the new set-up. That's all I'm saying. (Hence all the head-banging icons)
The car is 100% safe on ap1 rims and tires. The car is 100% safe on many set-ups, with sane street driving. It just handles much differently at the LIMITS than with AP2 rims and extreme performance tires. That's all.

So, I was talking about the at-the-limit feel when I put all those things together. Hope it didn't sound like I was blaming the car or setup for wreck. That was 100% me.
A little older, a lot broker, and hopefully a little wiser.
