I don't understand what the benefit of another shift knob is, can anyone explain? It seems like "Voodoo" knobs are the rage... or the Honda Titanium ones.

I know theres going to be alot of jokes on this subject.

Its all about the way the knob feels in your hand when you shift. Out of all of the shift knobs that ive gone through, the OEM Titanium is my personal preference. It has perfect weight to guide through every shift, does not stick to your hand like the leather ones do, heats up and cools fast.

The voodoo knobs are counter-sunk which makes the shift shorter.

Some people like lighter shift knobs cause you can feel the gears better, but there is gonna be more notchiness. Heavier shift knobs will make the notchiness alot less notcieable. Countersunk like Josh said makes the knob sit lower and in turn makes the shift shorter but nothing like a short shifter. Personally I got a 450g shift knob cause I was all about smoothness; it did make it alot smoother but wasn't that great. I got a aluminum Vodoo wich is like a couple grams heavier or lighter than stock but I love it. If you want a little heavier than stock get the Vodoo Ti

I just installed the Honda Titanium... I like the way it feels much better than the stock leather wrapped one. Even though it is lighter (the leather/aluminum one has a steel core I think) the shift quality feels better to me. And most importantly, the Ti color matches the color of the radio cover.

I think the Ti Honda is heavier than the stock by a little.

I liked my Voodoo aluminum pearl shift knob in my S2000 very well.One of my favorite mods.

Thanks weirdos! What exactly does "countersunk" mean? Er, and how else would a person refer to a "shift knob"?

I suppose it's inline with a member's "stick" problem a few weeks back... We are just very honest here (or very old)

countersunk means it sits lower than stock, making the throw shorter.

i have to Spoon TI shift knob and love it. since our shifter are weighted more at the bottom, i like having it as light as possible up top.. kind of like a pendulum effect... unlink my friends RSX, which is the opposite, and he liked a heavier shift knob... if you can ever make it out to one of our meets.. just ask around.. most people have diffrent shift knobs and you can check them out...
