Talking Something new

Been looking for a space conserving way to add a video camera to you car?

Here's something new that will help.

But first a word about Woot. Woot is located here in Dallas and is an internet site that offers one product for sale each day, usually at killer prices. You have to go there every day to see what they have to offer and you have to buy it that day. Yesterday it was a 61" thin, flat screen TV for $2,799 which when you googled you found everyone else was offering for $4,999.

Anyway today they had something new that I thought was cool. It is like an iPod for video and will hold up to 150 hours of video, so they say. This would let you add a small camera only, you wouldn't need your camcorder and place this in your secret compartment and voila you have a compact video system.

While it looks like a pretty cool product... I don't know if it would really be worth it... I mean you can get some pretty small camcorders now a days that are right in that price range that will take much better quality video than that with a moderately priced "camera only".... But as far as people that will use it for other stuff as well then it looks like a decent deal... The return policy is VERY VERY good and might be worth checking out for that reason alone, heh.

High quality camera only set ups are cheap and easy to come by. I am not talking about the webcams.

It would be much easier to mount a camera vs a camcorder. Velcro would hold a camera and you could more easily mount it in strange locations like to the side of your helmet, the front bumper or along side the car like you see in the movies.

I was really thinking that with the woot thingy in the glove box and only a cord leading to the camera that it would be super easy to mount and use.

Let me know when they are selling Angelina Jolie look-a-like hookers and I'll be down there to swoop one up faster than a cat can lick his ass.

Corey (QUIKAG) bolts his camera into the windblocker bolt holes on his S2000 for auto-x - that seems to be a really easy solution to me.
