The cop was waiting for all the info to come back from running the plate number (owner's name, address, warrants, criminal history, sexual orientation, etc).

 

Info. on the license plate reader system. I don't think the police are targeting front plate violators with this system, sounds like it is mainly for stolen vehicle identification.

dallas is a given cause DPD doesnt give a shit about anything it seems.

i got pulled over by a bike cop in addison for exp inspection. sticker was in the glove box and i hadnt put it on because my windshield got cracked the day before i got the sticker. i told him this and he was just like "oh okay, either put it on so you dont get pulled over again or jam the paperwork between the windshield and dash ( )

didnt even mention no front plate.

 

They're using it for more than stolen vehicles. I got pulled over 2 days after my inspection expred, and there was NO WAY that cop was able to see my sticker. When I told my coworker about it, he told me that he accientally renewed registration on a vehicle he already sold, and put that sticker on his other vehicle, then the other vehicle's registration expired. He was pulled over by a cop becuase of expired registration even though the sticker on his windshield was current (for the wrong vehicle).

nick.. i was in haltom city/ft worth area.. i made the mistake of not doing my inspection.. theres nothing wrong with the car btw, but ive never heard them mailing the tickets before.. as for the plate.. the cop couldnt have run my plate cause he was parked facing the front of my car.. i pulled out of the gas station and he followed.. besides the front plate.. i gave him no reason to even approach me

 

He was a cop and they "can" pull u over bc of whatever they "see." Cops can/will just make up a bs excuse as reason to pull u over, sometimes in addition to the actual violation like speeding plus expired inspection. If they don't have a legitimate reason then they will just write a ticket that u can goto court and argue. We are just burdened by now having to go to court and prove our innocence.

 

To answer your question, I'd call the police department and verify that a ticket will indeed be mailed to you.
