Default Ticket Help please!

So today I was racing an srt4 neon, yes i won, but what is important is a cop saw us and pulled me over. When it was all said and done he only gave me a ticket for speeding, and nothing else. The ticket is for 70mph on a 40 mph zone. However, he said he got me at 86 but was nice enough to drop it down. Anyway, i have never gotten a speeding ticket and I don't really know what my options are, or what i really even need to do. Anyone have any advice? Thanks in advance its much appreciated. This was in Plano if that makes a difference.

Well at least you werent pulled over by the cop that got jason - 103 in a 55 LOL

With more than 25 mph over, you're going to have to request a court date and ask for a deferred or a driving class.

dont bother with an atty, u can do this yourself and ask for yourself.

its Deferred Adjudication. prohibition is a whole different forum. deferred is quite a bit more expensive than taking the driving course as you are paying the full fine. i got popped going 98 in a 45 in mckinney and it cost me $278 and about 20 minutes in the back of the police car handcuffed.

I would recommend you get an attorney especially in plano! If you try to fight it, you will lose! No offense but if you got deferred adjudication wrong then it is probably safe to say you would not have the proper procedure to present evidence/terminology in the court room and if you don't the prosecutor will object to all your defenses and you will lose! Plano pays there cops to show up to court so you can bet on him being there, too.

there isnt much you have to say.. when i went in dallas i just sat next to the prosecutor and he offered me a plea deal. we agreed and i went on my way. its just casual everyday chat. you dont need a lawyer. you can do deferred if the prosecutor lets you. all depends on how good of a mood he is in.
