Aftermarket springs with stock shocks isnt a good idea either... depending on what it is it could be having a very negative effect on the cars hanlding..

just curious.. what tires / sizes are on there now?

I never, ever try to drift my car on the street.. freaking 225/255 Falken 615's dont give up grip until youre going way too fast to do anything... and ive already kissed a curb in this car before.. 2 rims, and 2 hubs later here i am
Yeah, the best thing to do is learn how to control what it feels like when it lets go so you know how to react.

I have kissed a curb by screwing up a clutch kick (which I have done plenty of times before just fine) - but it is that one time you mess up that you pay for it.

Luckily mine was only paint sacrafices as I managed to slow to 5mph before I tapped the curb.

If you can't do track time, personally what I did was do little u-turns and kick it out a little in first or second just to learn how it felt to let go and counter steer. This way if you screw up, you are going like 5mph.

Tim just can't drive. Period.

Agreed. This is what I've been doing for 5,000 miles. I've been driving the car in a tail out fashion intentionally, learning to predict, and most importantly not getting scared and lifting when the rear traction breaks.

Bottom Line: Too much entry speed!!!
2nd Bottom Line: Don't drive like that on the street!!!

I appreciate all you guys responses. I'll be getting some proper suspension soon and seeing you guys at the events.

For sure man, just be safe. If you push yourself too hard too fast thats when things happen.

I started out with those little 5mph 180s, and this past weekend I was doing 100ft drifts across that tech day parking lot lol. (I dont do it a lot just because of the tires I run are not federals haha)

Anyway, be safe and come out saturday to the track if youd like.
