Default What do you call this mesh?

I'm not sure if this will work so if it doesn't you may need to browse to the 2nd picture.

Anyway, I want to know what you call the meshing in the center gril? I've seen other types on other cars before but I dont know what it is called.. Phantom Grill perhaps?

It really just is perforated metal sheet material. You can overpay for the grillcraft grill if you want....or if you have a metal shop friend of some snips you can cut it to fit yourself.....

Thanks for that lin, Tom.

When I was cleaning my S yesterday, I noticed a lot of dents in my radioator grill and thought the mesh might help... any thoughts on this logic?

I would rather go to home depot and get some regular grill I think and make one myself rather than spending 300 dollars on that thing...LOL

It is also going to reduce airflow to your radiator.

May also reduce airflow into the engine since the intake is right above the radiator if yours is stock.

Its called expanded metal.
You can look at different options here www.mcmaster.com and search for expanded metal.
But yes it will reduce airflow. They have sheets with open areas from 35%-85%
