AE = Alternate Ego.

I'm wondering if it's FTW's "AE"..because I can't tell if BAM is being facetious with his posts, or if he truly wants to contribute to the NTS2K community...

You never actually answered Elistan's original question:

In other words, is this the way you speak in everyday conversation, or are you going out of your way to use "big words"? Are you trying to make some point about using "overly intellectual" terminology vs. using "redneck speak"?

It would seem to me that you are actually attempting to be "overly intellectual", as your posts went from "comprehensive" to "Somebody hand me a thesaurus!".

When you're trying to communicate with a group, why would you want to try to make it harder for them by using "redneck speak" OR "overly intellectual" terminology... it just doesn't make sense. You use appropriate language and terminology for the group you are trying to communicate with, it's not a difficult concept.

Some people say it's "young" vs "old", I disagree. I think it's "mature" vs "not". If you act like a tool then people aren't going to want you around. FTW's attitude is what was the largest problem. He was capable of talking coherently but he refused to because it bothered people when he didn't. He also purposefully trolled in threads and expressed that he liked when his threads got locked.

I shall endow you an acknowledgment in the most effortless of understanding: an unembellished no.

Once again, I ask of you: would your desire be that I put forth an authentic effort to depress my perhaps overly articulate use of the English language in order for the general society of North Texas to obtain a superior comprehention of my postings?
I'd simply answer that with a tip that my 3rd grade English teacher gave to me. "Know your audience." When writing, you should always write in a manner that befits your readers. I suspect there aren't a lot of readers on this forum that have a PhD in English Literature from an Ivy League school, so it really makes no sense to write at such a level. You're writing is not "overly articulate." "Articulate" means "clear and understandable," which doesn't really apply to your posts. If anything, I'd call them convoluted.

If you're unable to write at a level appropriate to the group, then maybe you're "too smart for your own good."

Regardless, you can keep writing with the unnecessarily erudite terminology if you please. While it may be inappropriate to the audience at hand, at least you're using real words and usually correct spelling and punctuation. I find your posts much more entertaining than FtW's.

Carry on.

and on the flip side...

if people act like whiny little crybabies then no one is going to want to be around them. you can be "mature" and have fun, which is something that i think a lot of people on this entire forum fail to realise

Hmm, I haven't seen anybody acting like a crybaby. If I recall, that whole "everybody's a crybaby" thing was started by our latest resident troll FTW himself, trying to make the people he was trying to piss off look bad for not wanting to put up with his crap.

If you are act like a troll then don't expect people to like you... that would be like me walking up to you and punching you every time I saw you, but wondering why you didn't like seeing me walk into the room.
