I'd look for a miata with reasonable miles, they run forever and are cheap on gas and fun to drive plus maintenance/parts is dirt cheap. Check DFWmiata.com classifieds.

Alternatively I'd say check out a 91-94 Nissan Sentra SE-R, cheap on gas, fun, pretty reliable as well. Check the SR20forums for a SE-R or SE-R.net
