Default WTB: Trailer Hitch

I posted this in For Sale & Wanted as well.

Does anyone have a used hitch to fit an 02?

I would even take new one, but I can't find who carries them.

The best prices I've seen for an S2000 hitch is www.tiretail.com. They have the Da'Lan for about $260. I'm about to order one myself along with a TireTail.

So does this mean you are going to be keeping your car instead of going with an Elise? My brother has a Da'Lan on his S2000 that I installed for him and personally I don't like that hitch. First off it is not easily removable so most owners just leave it on all the time. I think it is very unsightly and destroys the look of the back of the car. However, the Da'Lan is probably the strongest of the S2000 hitches, which makes it a good choice if you want to use a Tire Tail.

I will probably get an Elise to keep my S companyas well.

I have talked to them but not left a deposit. i want to see how the dust settles. I don't mind not having the first one

The Dalan or the Hammerly both look tough enough to take a tire tail.

If I haven't found one by Monday I will probably order the tiretail & hitch at the same time. Thanx for the tip Gernby

From what I remember, I think Hammerly didn't recommend using his hitch with the TireTail. If you do a search for "TireTail Hammerly", you will probably find it.

I found it. This is what H.Hammerly said about his hitch and the TireTail. I don't know if he is addressing a weakness in the hitch, or the TireTail...

I have a good solution for the tire tail twisting issue and that is to modify a hitch to have (3) 1 1/4 receiver points, the center one used to tow with and to make a custom tire tail that has (3) 1 1/4 male hookup point?s this will eliminate all the weakness in the hitch to tire tail. Having said that however that is still a lot of weight hanging so far back from the rear tires and from the bumper frame attachment structure, you may still end up with some frame damage in the long -term, small trailers are much more gentle on the car.
