The law requires 3 things: you want to overthrow the government, you want to do it by force, and you want to install a communist government. Other than the fact that the law adds nothing to the concept of treason, I don't find it that interesting. If you replace "communist" by "Fascist Republican," then I think we can find some people to prosecute.

Well, the code later goes on to talk about a communist not being able to hold public office and such, which is why they put in the definition of what a communist is.

And there's actually and "OR" in there between A and B, meaning if you want to forcefully replace the govt with a monarchy, you're legally a communist.

And if you're a Communist Party member and peacefully want to replace the US govt with a communist one, you are not, in the eyes of Texas, a communist.

Many of the founders of this country were radical revolutionaries, and therefore communists.

Interesting. I have to ask, what prompted the research that led you to this definition?

In another forum, somebody asked about the legality of booby trapping their motorcycle in case it gets stolen. Indiana state code specifically says that knowingly setting a "booby trap" is a felony. I was curious if Texas had any such statute. Nothing turned up for "booby" (hehe) or "trap", so I searched for "sabotage" and got a section called "CHAPTER 557. SEDITION, SABOTAGE, AND COMMUNISM" and I was curious what it said.

How ironical. Me and ones of the fellow member were discussion about communism the other week. Funny thing is that there's not much of a different between communist government and democracy government but ones is showing their true color and the other ones is hidding it.

Most of you have never felt the effects of communism, lucky for you...

There is so much freedom in this country that we take for granted.

Think about that as you get behind the wheel of that sweet S2K the next time and ask yourself if you'd be able to own that in a communist country, or if you'd be driving a 1955 belAir with a modded tractor engine in it because parts for the original are non-existant.

Viets, no knock on you, but you can never ever compare a communist govt to what we live in here in the USA. Coming from Vietnam, you should know all about this man.

Lol, if you were talking about 15-20 years ago then yes, i totally agreed with you, but since then it's a whole lot of different country despite that it's communist country.

Don't get me wrong, i love the U.S of A and the people here in this country, but if you are talking about the government here in this country then i'll have to have a second thought on that. Some of us pretent not to know and just minding our own business. America is great when we just going to work....putting food on the table for our families and enjoy driving the S on the weekend with spirit-free and worries-free. But if you look behind the closed door of how the government is runing and the hidden laws that you'll never know until you're breaking the laws. Laws that will make you say....WFT!!!!
