S2000_sam 03-21-2013 10:29 AM

As long as you get the sun booked, it'll not matter where we go! But not having to do a ferry for every MegaMeet would be a novel change.

S2000_sam 03-21-2013 10:56 AM

Have we been to S Wales?

When will it be open for booking Ian?

adamss2k 03-22-2013 03:03 AM

where where where im hoping to make it it just depends wether finances allow me

AquilaEagle 03-22-2013 10:33 AM

We are going to take payments in instalments to make it easier for people, and so that there is no room bill to pay at the meet :)

Hopefully have things finalised soon

What about the minibar?! https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/public/st...efault/lol.gif

This is 2 weeks after the mini-me is due...might be tricky one to approach with the missus...but will try. If its down' sauf, might be an option

minvo 03-22-2013 02:34 PM

...oh, yes.... and can you double check the year when finalizing the details.

he he he he he he he

(you can blame the wife for the above comment - it WAS her idea to post it).

caboose 03-24-2013 03:41 AM

I'm in!

HRS2000 03-24-2013 03:53 AM

Hotel looks nice

Now I got to start thinking do I take the P&O ferry from Rotterdam to Hull and get drunk :drunk:

Or drive to Calais take the Eurotunnel to Folkestone and then drive to Whitby :drive: :burnrubr: :rev: :vtec:

Decisions decisions , oneway or another I will go to the Megameet :unionjack:

RTVGREENEAGLE 03-24-2013 04:55 AM

Excellent choice of area and hotel. HRS2000 if you do the hull ferry we could meet up near hull and drive up in convoy.

When I do the Eurotunnel I will drive over the A1 . So a convoy would be possible as well :D .
Eurotunnel route is 535 miles when I take the shortest way . I normally seem to take some diversions for a more senic and less motorway route

S2000_sam 03-24-2013 05:11 AM

Im in. Some of us doing MegaMeets always have sailing to do, but hey that means a road trip then!! :vtec:

Always a great event with fellow anoraks, not to be missed.

Oh Goody - another couple of days on the motorway! What's wrong with Devon?

Regardless of that - I'll be there!

Mike

JAOZZY 03-27-2013 01:54 PM

We should be up or this, will try and keep the weekend clear.

Great choice of venue:)

Quoi? 03-29-2013 03:29 AM

Hmmm... the past three have been great! Though the location for this one is quite a jaunt from the ferry... Googlemaps puts it at between 4h20-5hrs drive from Holyhead, whihc makes it realistically ~6-7.5hrs allowing for breaks and even a small bit of traffic.

I'm not averse to a bit of a trek... but it's more a question of the time required/scheduling with ferries//time off work etc...

Interested as always though... will need to run through the logistics.

...cue quick check on logistics... (for the Irish Contingent):

Liverpool Port is only 3-3.5hrs from the venue... this would require the overnight P&O Ferry (departs 9pm, arrives 5am, usualy off boat by 6-6:30am.) This is slightly more expensive usually than the regular Irish Ferries/Stenaline, but you do get your dinner, breakfast and a night's accomodation (sort of... cabins are not bad though).

So if not staying the Sunday night, the 9pm Sunday night ferry home would be an option...

Taking an Irish Ferries/Stena home is not really an option as one-way is almost as expensive as return with P&O (i.e. unlike w/Irish Ferries etc.

Given one would have to take the entire Friday off work even if taking an 8am Irish Ferries boat , and not arrive at the venue until probably 6pm... I think the P&O overnighter is a good option.

Times from Stranraer are similar to from Holyhead.

AquilaEagle 03-30-2013 08:23 AM

Registration should go live tonight/tomorrow

AdrianEagle 03-30-2013 10:18 AM

Now if there is a single driver out there, depending on the date, I may be available as a navigator, passenger or co- driver which will help to reduce the cost to our mutual benefit. :burnrubr:
