09 seats
I'm continuing my search and am now considering two 09 cars. (I've researched the 09 engine problem, spoken to a few Honda managers and service people and am not unduly worried about this).
One of the cars has a badly worn driver's seat - looks like the seatbelt has chaffed through the upright leather and half worn through on one spot, with a fair amount of creases and colour loss. I know I could dye the worn areas and feed the leather seat generally to improve the condition, but sooner or later the leather would probably wear through leaving a small hole.
I've seen some seats on eBay which are from a 2002 model, so the headrests are a different shape, but how feasible would it be to remove the existing seats and replace with these, or is this just a bad idea - would it spoil the look of the car? Should I just wait until some 08/09 seats are available? Any views?
Thanks,
John

It's very easy to swap the seats over.
An alternative would be the Clazzio seat covers, which a few folk have: http://www.clazzioseatcovers.com/Hon...vers-s/614.htm

4 bolts holding the seats in, and 1 connector under the drivers seat for the seatbelt warning beep. I wouldn't put 2002 seats in an 09 though, it would look a bit odd, get them professionally re-upholstered. General concensus is that the later MY08> cars had very inferior leather on the seats and it can wear throughat an alarming rate. I've seen an 09 with 30k miles on it and the drivers seat looked like it had done 100k+

Pm VulcanDriver, I think that's his username, he's a relatively new chap on here but just had his drivers seat re-upholstered along with some other interior work. I reckon you won't get much change from £400 per seat though for a professional job.
This is what I'd do if the need arises. There's a post in the Forum some where.

Hiya, where abouts are you? I used K Baggs of Bournemouth who replaced the worn panels on my driver's seat. His price was reasonable. For 2 days work on the seat and carpet repair it was about £300. Probably less if its only a seat repair as he took out the carpet which took some time.
