I have not had good experience with 18's hence this;

This was with a good set of Eagles as well. I have mentioned to several people that the handling seemed wrong since changing to these, I would think seriousely about changing the character of the car by putting 18s on, you have less give because of the rubber bands (eagles) around your wheels and the suspension is not designed to handle that! You need to change your shocks too.

I'll take your word on this TM as I dont want my S to end up looking like that.
It has changed the charicteristic of the car for me, but so far I can only say for the better.
Could having different alloys really make much of a difference on how the car handels? These BBS alloys really are fantastic, excellent build quality and only a few KG's heavier than standard.
I don't recall Lee, but IIRC, you didn't check the geometry when you changed the wheels over, and you were running part worn tyres from another S with probably different geometry ?
When I bought my 18s with part worn tyres, I experienced tram-lining. Once I put new rubber on, the tram-lining disappeared. I think that this has a lot do do with geometry differences and tyre wear.
My 18s handle very well on track & road. They also work a lot better in the wet.
Been running 18" F1's for over 12 months now. IMHO they are defo inferior to the S02 from an ultimate grip perspective; sidewalls seems to flex more then the S02 whcih seems to give a more progressive feel. Very good in the wet, but then again I never had problems with the S02's in the wet.
