19" Wheels (pic) + offset question
I have just been to meet up with Paul Smith to have a look at his wheels and I must say they do look excellent but he tells me that they only have a 35 offset at the rear, I though you had to have at least a 50 offset but he says that rubbing isnt a problem. Why do we need 50 offset if its not to stop the rubbing? I really want some of these but dont want to spend the money if its going to cause problems so I would appreciate any advice from anyone technical. Pauls a really nice bloke though how he manages to insure an S at 23 for
If they stick out past the arch by a certain amount (something like 5mm I think), you'll fail MOT and not be road legal.
I'm assuming this is for looks, not handling - offset affects the handling as well.

I'd considered 19" but I ruled them out. Mainly because I was worried about making the ride too hard and I wasn't sure how they'd look. Now I know... They look very smart.
A little sad news on the Volks.
I don't want to point the finger but... Donna managed to kerb them last week. Both the offside scraped around 70% of the rim.
Now trying to decide how to go about the repairs.
