Hmmmmmmmm........sounds like it's going to be touch and go whether you manage to 'burn' all 3 ltrs. of that 'scarce as hens teeth' 10w-30................try VTEC'ing in every gear (incl. reverse) at every opportunity! (the 6000-9000rpm phase must be quite exciting in reverse - anyone tried this?????)

Hi,

Does anyone know what the volume of oil required is to go from the lower line to the upper line on the dipstick?

I guess that means I can keep an emergency Litre in the boot, rather than the huge gallon container..

Mr Bicuit.

Similar milage but have not used 1/2 ltre yet, and that is reving the knackers off it. Does this mean something is wrong

Better less than more I would think. I did 3000 miles in 6 weeks, so whether the time frame has nything to do with it? (i.e. long journey / short journey?)

Hi,

I dont belive that anything is wrong if you havn't used a lot of oil..the oil usage does vary considerably from car to car......some use none, and some use truckloads.....(mine falls in the truckload catagory ) One thing to remember (forgive me if you already know this) is to check BOTH sides of the dipstick...as the level varys a lot from side to side!

Hi,

I had my oil topped up for free at Tunbridge Wells Honda, 1 Litre in 1600 miles, and 7 weeks old. They gave me another couple of litres free of charge

I like the people very friendly, did all the work, and would not take any money for it, all part of the service, and they did'nt even sell me the car!!!
