Default 2003 colours

Some time ago I was asking about the colours for 2003 and learned from the S2Ki community about "Lime Green" and what seems to be called "Lipstick Red". Sadly, I cannot find the original thread - no doubt my error.

I placed and order recently and during the process I checked the Honda.co.uk web site to get the most definitive, up to date list of colours. Suprised that the new "green/lipstick/orange" colours were not showing I took the time to contact Honda and ask why these colours were not showing. Here is there response in case anyone is interested......

Thank you for your recent email regarding the colours for the S2000 as shown on the Honda UK website. You are quite correct in saying that there are three new colours available for the Honda S2000, these being bright orange, Lime green, and Deep candy red. These colours are however only available to special order by request and differ in production from the standard colours. The "extra" colours are hand painted, and only available in limited numbers each year, they involve a 6 layer process as opposed to the standard 2 layer's. Full details about these colours will be available from your local approved Honda dealer.

It is due to the "special request" nature of these additional colours that
they are not shown on the Honda website. It was decided that due to their limited availability each year it would be unfair to show them as generally available on the website.

With respects to your comment regarding the way that the web site operates, we apologise if the design of the site caused delay to your viewing. I have passed your comments onto the team responsible for the design and upkeep of the Honda UK website, and hopefully they will be able to amend this at the next revision of that page.

Deep "Candy" Red I thought it had a classy "race track" name.

Hmm. will these colours cost extra? will they be standard issue next year etc?

anyway, anyone made (photoshop?) a S2k in dark green with beige leather? I'd like to see if this works. (same combo as my Corrado VR6 and it's lovely on the VW but on the honda?????)

The Original Thread is Here .
I only found it after I remembered using the word "lipsticky" (on one of my posts) and typed that into the search function!

My worry would be, if you had to have some paint work done. Could your local body shop be able to match the paint. And would they put on 6 coats.

That's not so much a worry if you pick the Lime Green. A few Chicken Dopiazas and a 12-pack of Strongbow should, eventually, give you bucket loads.

Wow - I think that looks pretty good (though it would have to lose the red brake calipers).
Good work, Cedric.
