2004 windscreen / windshield tape removed!
Ianl dares challenge the boy Biscuit?
Took an hour (now have sore fingers and thumbs), but it was very straight-forward. Only one scuff on the paintwork near passenger corner (LHD car) which is the size of a thumb print. I have picked up some of Meguiars ScratchX to see if that clears it up, but I will search for other advice.

It does in North America, Rob.
The Septics (and hence the Canucks too, since they're honourary Septics
) have this strange idea that people like black windscreen tape but don't like the fastest colours, RNBP and MCB, so don't offer them over there

Neil, 99-01 models had black tape on the windscreen surround. It is painted underneath but removing the tape can sometimes cause scratches.
The tape was dispensed with on European models from 02 onwards. North American models retain it even now though.
