Default 3/4 Size Front Plate

Really fancy doing this mod, I have done a search but just need to clarify a couple of things.

Where do I get a couple of the rubber plugs from?

What number plate size do I order?

How may of you guys have been pulled over for having a illegal size plate?

Is velcro ok for attaching the plate?

Thanks Tim

Cool

Take it right off, it's exactly the same offence when you get caught

I see a LOT of kiddy ricers with them on the dashboard now.
"It just fell off officer" - I can hear it now.
"Shame it can't be read by ANPR though sonny - here, have a ticket"

I like these too. Check out Hypers in the LM wheel thread.

Having a smaller plate might be less inconspicous then no plate at all.

and i wouldnt use velcro.... someone will nick your plate.

Just wear a normal plate the smaller ones can look CHAV unless done tastefully

Not true

I ran with this one for 4 years and never had a problem. I used industrial velcro - or, if you order from 'fancyplates.com' you get sticky pads in the pack.

i have got the 330mm x 90mm front plate from www.craigsplates.com, which is under their LEGAL section.... they will fit nicely on the front bumper without intruding the grill/vent area... i think the smallest you could go legal is 85mm..

i've used some heavy duty double sided tape, and it seems to do its job..

Legally the car has to be pre-01, or an import, to wear a 3/4 sized plate. That's according to my MOT blokey anyway.

Don't bother with plugs from Bumperplugs.com. Far too pricey. Get a set of rubber grommets from Halfords for about

Depending on your constabulary area you will get pulled & NIP'ed for it.....& rightly so IMO. Check on the plod forum on pistonheads...some threads kicking around a month or so ago. Different forces have differenct areas of focus.
That aside, some people do get away with it. Its a risk you have to weigh up. 3 points for a number plate? No thanks.
