Default 8" Door Speakers

Looking at the Focal Integration IS200 but they seem to be an 8" speaker

Does anyone have experience of fitting an 8" speaker to an S2000? Will it go in or is 6.5" the max?

6.5" max without butchering the door cards.

I fitted some by making an MDF template to make the speakers sit proud of the door and screw into the original fittings. I forgot to get pics at the time though.

Is it definitely worth the upgrade over stock speakers? I changed the head unit but still find the system a little weedy. Wouldn't mind a little more sound without changing the look from OEM.

Decent components and sound deaden the doorskin and door card. Start with that and then add an amp if you need more.

Awesome. I assume little bit of modification will be needed to fit the 6.5" set. Hopefully won't be much of an issue.

Depends how much depth you need - 3/4" MDF spacer is usually enough.

I originally installed some KFC 1666s (they fell in perfectly!) and they massively improved the muffled sound of the dreadful OEM things. I'm sure I found some OEM speaker material in the filter of the tumble dryer.

Anyway, they were even betterer after upgrading to a 50W MOSFET amp set.

I thought Focal did a 6 1/2 in one-way?

I plan on buying and fitting these at some point, I already have the MDF spacers off ebay.
